About Flathead Firearm Handling
Firearm Handling was originally created by my father and I back in 2013. My Dad was a Police Officer, armorer and firearm instructor for over 30 years. After my service in the Marine Corps we had a dream of taking our shared passion for marksmanship and sharing it with others in a way that wasn't intimidating to men and women new to shooting but was still capable of pushing the more experienced shooters. Unfortunately, my Dad's health was suffering and he passed away in August 2014 so we never got to make that dream a reality together. My Father is my hero in so many ways, but most importantly for the way he cared for others, loved the Lord and exemplified integrity in everything he did. I have continued to train and share our passion for shooting since his passing and feel so honored to relaunch this dream of ours to train groups and individuals to safely and effectively handle firearms here in the Flathead Valley of Montana. The name, logos and even URL are all from the original plans we agreed on back in 2013.
Primary Instructor
Jonathan Pharr (CFI, PPITH, PPOTH, RSO)
Firearm training was a very regular part of Jonathan's (JT’s) childhood as his father was in Law Enforcement and a Firearm Instructor. In 2003, JT enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and served multiple deployments to Iraq. After completing his military service he attended the University of Missouri where he earned a Bachelor of Journalism degree with an emphasis in Strategic Communications and a minor in Business. After college, JT helped start up a Defense Contracting Firm where he worked as a licensed protection specialist and the CEO. JT has trained professionally in nearly every principal of shooting including long range precision, CQB, principal protection, personal protection inside the home, personal protection outside the home and he holds Montana State and National certifications as a firearms instructor and range safety officer.
Women’s Pistol Instructor & Administrative Assistant
Annah Pharr
I grew up in a home where the only firearm we had was a 12 gauge shotgun. Firearms were new to me when I married JT in 2006. Over the course of our marriage I have enjoyed shooting but I was never able to really focus on my training, especially while raising littles. I am excited to be a in a place where I feel more mentally ready to take on the responsibility and be more intentional with my firearm training. I have an Associate of Arts degree and 20 years of experience in management in various industry fields: retail, mortgage, non-profit, creative media and financial. I am so passionate to help other women build their confidence and capabilities in firearm handling here in the Flathead Valley!
