Upcoming: July 11th 9am-2pm
This course will cover; firearm safety, pistol parts and functions, loading and unloading, guidance on selecting the right pistol for you, stance and grip, aiming, trigger control, breathing, clearing malfunctions, carry options and more. The majority of this course involves classroom and hands-on practice with no live fire. The last 1-2 hours will give you the opportunity to implement what you’ve learned with stationary live fire at the range.

Where: Indoor Classroom and Outdoor Private Range (Somers)
What to bring:
-Eye and Ear Protection
-Semi-auto Pistol (you may rent a pistol and holster from Firearm Handling if you do not have one yet)
-Belt and Holster
-50 Rounds of factory ammunition in the correct caliber for your firearm
-Notebook and something to write with if you’d like to take notes
-Water
-Snacks
-Appropriate clothing and footwear for the shooting range (no open-toe shoes or v-neck shirts)

June 20th 10am-3pm
This is an advanced concealed carry course. Students should have a solid grasp on firearm safety and drawing from concealment. Students should be able to draw from concealment and place one round in the “A” zone of the target is 2 seconds or less from 5 yards.
We will work on polishing our draw and presentation to maximize economy of motion. This course will cover retention shooting at close quarters, unorthodox shooting positions, maximizing use of real world cover including vehicles, malfunction clearing and efficient movement.
Range address and directions will be sent to you before the course date.
What you will need:
Semi-auto pistol
Inside the waistband holster made of kydex or plastic.
Ammunition: 250 rounds pistol
Sturdy belt
At least one extra magazine and a method to carry it (pocket is fine if that's how you typically carry)
Eye and ear protection
Appropriate range attire that you don't mind getting dirty
Wear clothing similar to what you typically wear for everyday carry
We will work on some unorthodox shooting positions on the ground but you won't have to move to them in a hurry.
Hat recommended
Lunch & water (Bring food, snacks and stay hydrated!)
Also bring a lawn chair if you have one.
Extra batteries for ear pro and optic if applicable.

Semiautomatic Pistol chambered in 9mm
Outside the waistband holster
AR platform rifle chambered in .223/5.56 with a sling

Ammunition for live fire range days (50-100 rounds per week)
Additional equipment is required if you choose to participate in The Tactical Games Regional Events (We’ll cover this in detail during the onboarding process)

This Montana Private Security Program approved course will cover all state required curriculum and shooting qualification to receive your Armed Guard endorsement.
